Payments via Maestro will shortly be suspended for Website Payments Pro customers who have not applied to upgrade their account to support 3D secure payments.

This added security layer has been introduced by PayPal who have teamed up with Cardinal Centinel to reduce the number of charge backs. Any merchant who has not upgraded their account by 21st January 2010 will no longer be able to accept Maestro payments. If you do not process Maestro payments, it is not currently necessary to upgrade.
